Step into the blue medina of Chefchaouen
From Casablanca, travel north through Morocco’s varied landscapes towards the Rif Mountains and the beautiful town of Chefchaouen. Its striking blue-washed lanes, mountain setting and relaxed rhythm make it a rewarding place to spend a night and explore without rushing.
Day-by-day itinerary
Day 1 — Casablanca, Rabat and Chefchaouen
Depart Casablanca and travel north, with a possible stop in Rabat depending on departure time. Continue towards Chefchaouen in the Rif Mountains. Take an unhurried walk through blue-painted lanes, atmospheric courtyards and Uta el-Hammam square before staying overnight in the town or nearby area.
Day 2 — Chefchaouen and return to Casablanca
Enjoy the town in the softer morning light, with time for photography, local shops or a relaxed breakfast. Afterwards, return south to Casablanca, with breaks arranged around road and traffic conditions. The drive is substantial, which is why we recommend the overnight itinerary rather than a same-day dash.
Highlights of the blue city

Walking and accommodation advice
Chefchaouen’s medina includes stepped streets and slopes. Bring comfortable shoes and tell us if you have limited mobility. Riad access and vehicle drop-off points vary: some properties are reached on foot through narrow streets.
